It is 560 mm (about 22 inches) wide, with a sidewall 60% of the width, on a 22.5-inch rim, for a nominal overall diameter of about 49 inches. The wide, low footprint spreads a heavy load across the field so the machine sinks less and compacts the soil less than it would on narrow tires.
Tread and construction
- Flotation tread: a block or directional pattern that rolls easily and cleans out on soft ground.
- VF (very high flexion): some versions carry the same load at much lower pressure, which cuts compaction further. They cost more.

- Load index and speed symbol: trailers and tankers often run on the road loaded. Match or exceed the load index and speed rating on your current tires.
