Buying 11L-15 tires
11L-15 is two different tires in one size. On two-wheel-drive tractors it is a common front steering tire, with ribbed F-2 tread that holds a straight line and resists sliding sideways. On farm equipment it is an implement tire, with I-1 rib tread for free-rolling wheels on hay rakes, wagons, balers, trailers and similar machines. The size is about 11 inches (279 mm) wide on a 15-inch rim; the L means a low-section, wider and lower tire.
Both are usually bias-ply. Tell us which job the tire does so we send the right tread, because an implement rib and a tractor steering rib are designed for different loads and speeds.
What to check
- Load rating: 11L-15 is made in several ply ratings (for example 8-ply and 12-ply). Wagons and trailers that carry heavy loads need the higher rating. Match or exceed your current tires.
- Tube or tubeless: many implement wheels in this size run tubes. Tell us what you are using.
- Rim: check the wheel’s bolt pattern if you need complete tire and wheel assemblies. See wheels and rims.
- Used tires: implement tires often crack from sun and age before the tread wears out, so ask for the date code and photos of the sidewalls.
