Buying 14.9-32 tractor tires

14.9-32 is a rear tire for row-crop tractors, found mainly on older machines. It shares its width with the more common 14.9-28, 14.9-30 and 14.9-38 but fits a 32-inch wheel. It is about 14.9 inches (378 mm) wide on a 32-inch wheel.

Most tires in this size are bias R-1. Because 32-inch rear rims are less common than 30, 34 and 38, send us a sidewall photo so we can confirm the size and the options available.

Easy to confuse

  • 14.9-30, 14.9-32 and 14.9-38 share the same width but fit different wheels.
  • 14.9-32 vs 12.4-32: same rim, but the 12.4 is narrower and shorter.

What to check

  • Tread: R-1 is the standard farm lug; ask about R-1W for wet ground and longer wear.
  • Ply rating: match or exceed your current tires, especially if the tractor runs a loader or heavy three-point implements.
  • Tube or tubeless: tell us what you run now, and whether the tires are filled with liquid ballast.
  • Front-wheel-assist tractors: changing the rear size or construction changes the front-to-rear ratio. Check it before you order.
  • Used tires: ask for the tread depth, the date code and photos of both sidewalls, and look for weather cracks.
  • Pairs: replace both rears together so the tractor pulls straight.

What do 14.9-32 tires cost on our site?

This size is not on a model listing yet. Send us the size and we check what we can supply.

How tall is the 14.9-32 tire?

The nominal overall diameter is about 57.3 in (1,456 mm), which gives a rolling circumference near 18 in (4,575 mm). That figure is an estimate that assumes an 85% aspect ratio, the usual rule for old inch sizes. Real tires vary by make and load, so treat it as a guide and use the tire diameter calculator or the lead-lag calculator before you change size on a front-wheel-assist tractor.

Is 14.9-32 a radial or a bias tire?

It is a bias-ply size. The dash in the size marks bias construction, which costs less and has stiffer sidewalls. See the radial vs bias guide.
