Petlas TD16 Bias Front Tractor Tire

The Petlas TD16 is a bias-ply tire: a ribbed tire for the free-rolling front axle of a two-wheel-drive tractor. We list 4 sizes, from 5.50-16 to 7.50-16.

What are the Petlas TD16 specs?

Load, ply and price for each size are in the size table above. They come from the maker catalogs we sourced and are confirmed again in your quote.

What does the maker list for the TD16?

• Rib front tire for 2WD tractors.
• Petlas lists it for both field work and short road trips.
• Tube-type, 6-10 ply.
• Also made in 6.00-19, 6.50-20 and 7.50-20.

Which sizes does the TD16 come in?

Each size links to its own page with the width, rim and fitment notes. Not sure which one your tractor uses? Read it off the sidewall of the tire you are replacing, or use the tire size converter.

• 5.50-16: 140 mm (5.5 in) wide, 16 in rim
• 6.00-16: 152 mm (6 in) wide, 16 in rim
• 6.50-16: 165 mm (6.5 in) wide, 16 in rim
• 7.50-16: 191 mm (7.5 in) wide, 16 in rim

How do you read the TD16 size?

Take 5.50-16 as an example. It is 140 mm (5.5 in) wide on a 16 in (406 mm) rim. The dash in a bias size marks the construction, and in an inch size the first number is the width in inches and the last is the rim diameter. Our tractor tire size guide explains every number on the sidewall.

Before you order, check four things: the rim diameter matches your wheel, the load rating covers your heaviest working weight, the new tire matches the other tire on the same axle, and the size matches what the tractor maker approves.

Who does the TD16 suit?

Choose it for the front axle of a two-wheel-drive tractor. It steers, it carries the front load and it rolls freely. On a front-wheel-assist tractor the fronts are driven, so the size must match the rears.

What are the limits of the TD16?

An F-2 style tire is for a free-rolling steering axle, not for pulling. Keep the same tread and size on both sides. On a front-wheel-assist tractor the front tire must roll slightly farther than the gears expect, so match it to the rears with the lead-lag calculator. If you run a loader, read our front tractor tires guide first.

How does the TD16 compare with similar tires?

These models in our catalog overlap with the TD16 in size, so they are the ones you are most likely to be choosing between. Compare price per tire in the size tables, and compare the tread and load data, not only the brand name.
