What does the maker list for the Optitrac?

  • Directional lug radial.
  • 85-, 65-, 70-series and IF/VF-width sizes.
  • Example: 600/65R28 rated 160D, 9,900 lb max load.

Which sizes does the Optitrac come in?

Each size links to its own page with the width, rim and fitment notes. Not sure which one your tractor uses? Read it off the sidewall of the tire you are replacing, or use the tire size converter.

How do you read the Optitrac size?

Take 320/85R24 as an example. It is 320 mm (12.6 in) wide on a 24 in (610 mm) rim. The R in a radial size marks the construction, and in a metric size the first number is the width in millimeters and the second is the aspect ratio. Our tractor tire size guide explains every number on the sidewall.

Before you order, check four things: the rim diameter matches your wheel, the load rating covers your heaviest working weight, the new tire matches the other tire on the same axle, and the size matches what the tractor maker approves.

What does Goodyear say about the Optitrac?

Goodyear Farm Tires, built by Titan, describes the Optitrac as a radial with a self-cleaning tread, a 45-degree lug angle, a reinforced bead and a lug about 25% deeper than conventional R-1 tires. It was developed with tractor makers for modern high-torque machines and is said to work best in heavy, wet soil. A lug that deep is why we code it R-1W, which means at least 20% deeper than R-1, and why some resellers list it that way. The family is split by size: narrow row-crop sizes, 85, 70 and 65 series, and sizes above 540 mm wide for larger tractors. For the code and why it matters, see the R1 vs R1W guide.

Who does the Optitrac suit?

Choose it if your ground stays wet or heavy, or the tractor logs many hours a year. R-1W lugs run about 20% deeper than R-1, so there is more rubber to wear and more bar to bite with. The rim range, 24 to 42 inches, covers utility through row-crop tractors.

What are the limits of the Optitrac?

R-1W costs more than R-1 and the deeper lug adds weight and road noise. For dry ground and light yearly hours a standard R-1 may be enough. The R1 vs R1W guide helps you decide. Radials also need careful pressure setting: use the maker load table for your weight.

How does the Optitrac compare with similar tires?

These models in our catalog overlap with the Optitrac in size, so they are the ones you are most likely to be choosing between. Compare price per tire in the size tables, and compare the tread and load data, not only the brand name.
