Goodyear tractor tires (or Goodyear tractor tire, tractor tires Goodyear, Goodyear tires tractor, even good year tractor tires) come with a question that doesn’t fit on a sidewall: who actually makes them? (Not the blimp. We checked.) Goodyear built its name on car tires, and the farm side has had a plot twist.

Goodyear tractor tires are made by Titan International under a license from Goodyear. Goodyear sold its farm tire business to Titan in 2005, and Titan renewed the Goodyear farm tire license in 2025. The name stays on the sidewall. Titan runs the factories. Here is how that happened.

Titan makes Goodyear tractor tires under license

In 2005 Goodyear announced it was selling its farm tire business to Titan for $100 million, according to NBC News. The deal included the Freeport, Illinois plant, which employed about 800 people and made tires for tractors and other farm machines. The agreement also let the Goodyear name stay on certain farm tires built by Titan, and Goodyear kept selling some Titan tire products.

Goodyear farm, Goodyear ag tires, Goodyear agricultural tires, Goodyear farm tires and Goodyear farm tyres all point to the same Goodyear Farm Tire brand. In the US it is spelled tires. In much of Europe it is spelled tyres. The tires don’t care.

So a Goodyear farm tire today is a Titan-built tire wearing a Goodyear badge. Our Titan tires guide covers the company behind it. Think of it as a name that moved house but kept the mailbox.

How the Goodyear farm license grew

The deal did not stop in 2005. Here are the main steps that the sources report:

Year What happened
2005 Goodyear sells its farm tire business, including the Freeport, Illinois plant, to Titan
2014 Goodyear exits the farm tire business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa
2015 Titan expands its license to cover Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Russia and nearby territories, and buys Goodyear molds in Poland, Turkey and South Africa
2025 Titan renews the Goodyear farm tire license and adds light construction and industrial, ATV, lawn and garden, and golf

The 2014 and 2015 steps come from Modern Tire Dealer. The 2025 renewal is reported by Tyrepress, which dates the announcement to May 2, 2025.

Where are Goodyear tractor tires made?

By Titan. Titan’s website lists tire plants in Des Moines, Iowa; Freeport, Illinois; Bryan, Ohio; and Union City, Tennessee. The 2025 license covers the Americas, Europe, Africa and Oceania, so a Goodyear-branded tire could come from more than one plant. The exact origin depends on the model and the market.

If where it was made matters to you, check the sidewall and ask the seller before you order. Any seller who can’t answer is telling you something.

The Goodyear tractor tires we supply

Are Goodyear tractor tires any good?

We supply Goodyear, so take this with a pinch of rubber. The farm line is built by Titan, a company the sources list as an original equipment supplier to John Deere, AGCO, Case IH, New Holland and Kubota. That says something about the factory. It says less about each model.

Our opinion: read the model name, not the badge. The Goodyear name on the sidewall covers a front tire and a radial rear tire, and in our catalog those run from $220 to $1,656 per tire. Same logo, very different tires. Match the model to your tractor and your work.

Here is one size to prove it. In 420/85R28, the Goodyear Optitrac is $1,656 per tire. That is the second-highest of 15 listings, which run from $570 for the Cultor RD-01 to $1,841 for the Firestone Performer Evo. Price follows the model and the build, not only the name.

Model (420/85R28) Price
Cultor RD-01 $570
Petlas TA110 $620
Galaxy Earth-Pro Radial 853 $751
Alliance Agri Star II $792
CEAT Farmax R85 $868
Ozka AGRO10 $901
Ascenso TDR 850 $982
Bridgestone VX-Tractor $1,000
Trelleborg TM600 $1,123
Maxam AgriXtra 85 $1,134
BKT Agrimax RT 855 $1,313
Michelin AgriBib 2 $1,517
Mitas AC85 $1,543
Goodyear Optitrac $1,656
Firestone Performer Evo $1,841

Every price above is per tire from our live catalog.

When Goodyear isn’t the right tire

Honest answer: if your tractor maker specifies a different tire, or your size isn’t in a Goodyear line, don’t force it. And if the tires on your tractor are fine, keep running them. A good year for your tractor is one where the tires just do their job.

Are Goodyear tractor tires made in the USA?

Titan lists tire plants in Iowa, Illinois, Ohio and Tennessee. The Goodyear license also covers Europe, Africa and Oceania, so the origin of a particular tire depends on the model and market. Check the sidewall.

Goodyear announced the sale to Titan in 2005 for $100 million. It included the Freeport, Illinois plant, which employed about 800 people at the time.

Which Goodyear tractor tires does Tractor Tires sell?

We list four Goodyear lines: Triple Rib HD front tires, Optitrac radial rears, Dyna Torque II bias rears and Farm Utility SL implement tires. Prices are per tire, and some sizes are quote only.

What is the Goodyear Optitrac?

How much do Goodyear tractor tires cost?

In our catalog the Goodyear Triple Rib HD front lists at $220 to $272 per tire, and the Goodyear Optitrac radial rear lists at $993 to $1,656 per tire depending on size. Some sizes are quote only. Prices change, so check the live listing.

Are Goodyear tractor tires radial or bias?
